You Can Now Group Video Call on Whatsapp

We’ve had our sights on Whatsapp recently with its new features for admin control, but now the social networking app has listened to what the users wanted, and we wanted group video calls.

Whatsapp Group Video Call

The new feature allows you to arrange group video calls and group voice calls with up to 4 people – similar to what Skype currently offers.

Voice calls were introduced to Whatsapp by Facebook three years ago, whilst video became inclusive two years after. With Whatsapp group chats popping up on our phones constantly, it’s about time we take the conversations to the camera.

To setup a Group Video call, simply tap “Add participant” in the top right corner of your screen.

What’s even more impressive about the feature? Whatsapp have stated the group calls are end-to-end encrypted.

The end-to-end encryptions is present thanks to the work of WhisperSystems, who also helped the messaging app to encrypt billions of messages a day.

What do you think of the group video call feature?
