These Crisps Come in a Can & Fight Food Waste

Recent studies suggest that a third of all food produced in the world goes to waste, with the annual value adding up to over £750 billion (in food waste). That’s nearly twice the amount we would need to end “below the breadline poverty” in the UK.

Despite the increasing awareness of food banks and the support of organisations such as WRAP, not enough is being done to tackle the issue.

¡Yappah! Crisps

¡Yappah! Chicken Crisps are delicious snacks in a can that help to tackle the problem through the use of recycled food. Yes you read that, these crisps come inside a peculiar can. Tackling not only food waste, but plastic, ¡Yappah! cans are 100% recyclable and you won’t have to feel too guilty about how the oceans are being drenched in plastic bottles.

When it comes to crunch time, these crisps are crafted with veggies including carrot & celery puree from juicing or spent malted barley from brewing. These ingredients are normally discarded in the process, but ¡Yappah!  have kindly taken them off the hands of others and created a snack with some added chicken breast trim for flavour.

Because nobody ever wants to waste food.

With recycled food, your first thought might be how boringly healthy these crisps are, but with five flavours they’re a pleasant surprise. You can enjoy Carrot Curry, White Cheddar India Pale Ale, Shandy Beer, Celery Mojo and Michelada.

All with a unique and incredible flavour, the favourite definitely seems to be the carrot curry..

¡Yappah! is currently on Kickstarter, ready to launch themselves into the homes of all those fighting against food waste.
